NAC Breda is a football club from the Netherlands that used to play in the top division, but has been struggling in the second devision for the past years. In 2022, the UAE owned City Group, who owns Manchester City, and New York City F.C., did a bid to buy the club. This would give NAC Breda millions more revenue than most teams in the Netherlands. NAC Breda declined the bid and it was bought up by a group of local entrepreneurs with a significantly smaller budget.

Universal Music Group is a multinational music corporation, one of the "Big Three" record labels in the world. On January 31st 2024, Universal Music Group's licensing agreement with Tiktok has ended. The companies since have not been able to agree on a new license, and all music owned by UMG has been removed from TikTok. UMG has published an open letter, in which they explain they were not able to agree with TikTok on 3 major issues - "appropriate compensation for our artists and songwriters, protecting human artists from the harmful effects of AI, and online safety for TikTok’s users." TikTok responded calling this a false narrative.
